Rino was exposed to Batik from an early age. Her late grandmother had a quite collection of fine batik pieces which she aired or washed using Lerak or Kelerak (Sapindus rarak) fruit regularly . During her early teens, Rino watched her mother doing batik making workshop but she only started doing batik properly in Tasmania. She made panel pieces where then she made them into cushion covers, patchwork piece or casserole carrier.
Sewing or making house slippers using felt are other things she does when she is bored with everything else.
