It is the 'me who always forgot to post anything that has been happening' thing!
This is the truth, because I have always been flat out doing 101 things and I sometimes forget (all right, most of the time that is! :P) that I have to post something that has gotta do with our creative activities.
Anyhow, let me start from where I still can remember.....
Christmas was great (oh gee Rino...that was more than a month ago!!!). We went to one of my Melbourne families in Drouin, Gippsland (yes, that is still in Australia). We managed to have a great long lunch which lasted for 10 hours. That was from 1pm to 10 pm. And guess what, we didn't even manage to eat the Christmas cake. I supposed since it has soaked in brandy bath, it can be eaten for this year's christmas. Surprise, surprise.....I didn't put on weight because of the Christmas feast, BUT I do put on weight because of all the chocolate presents I have been eating since New Year. we can't throw nice chocolate away, can we?
The latest thing I did was taking part in a short course shoe making in mid January. In short, it was fun. All I could say was that I have started buying books and lasts. So what does it tell you? :)
These are what I ended up with:
One of the few things that we have been busy with is renovating one of our bedrooms into my sewing, drawing and maybe if there was still space, painting room. I have been doing plastering. Wellllllll, if you have ever owned an old house like ours AND have tried doing DIY renovation, you would have found out that nothing in these kind of old house is either square or straight. So there I was, doing the plastering on the gap on the wall between each boards (we decided not to change with plaster boards because the boards were still good and no point of changing something that were still in a good condition. Save time and MONEY). Oh I needed to plaster it because whoever did that room in the past, put beading to cover the gap and the beading was about 5mm higher than the wall itself. and if you wanted to put shelves on a wall, you did need a flat wall and not a wall with a vertical bump or two in the middle of the shelves.
Frustrating? VERY! because as I said, nothing was square in this house! HAH! Even a straight shelf/cupboard would look crooked coz the ceiling was few degrees higher at one corner.
Well, you could only laugh and no point being annoyed with this kind of thing.
Anyhow, I think that is enough for now. You might hear from me again in a few weeks' time because I am in the middle of making a life size sculpture that has been taking most of my time too.
From all of us here we would like to wish you who celebrate:
