It has been very long and tiring few weeks, that is since first week of September until mid of November. Life hasn't been easy for my family in Jakarta due to another lost of life in the last 2,5 years.
Came back in Tasmania almost reaching the end of October and had to finish few works that I couldn't finish because of my sudden trip to Indonesia.
I managed to finish 12 pairs of felt slippers, all handsewn. Thanks to Howard for his help on punching holes on those felt pieces and leather soles. Putting things together for some new cutlerry such as the salad forks and new long handled sugar spoon.... and oh, don't forget our new timber sign that we just had it made. Not such a bad design, so I say myself ,since am the one who designed it! LOL
All needed to be done because we were taking part at the Latrobe Craft fair, in....Latrbe obviously!
We went with no expectation what so ever because for the last few years things have been pretty slow, where people seemed too scared to part with their money. And since our pieces are consider as luxurious items, we understand that situation completely. Besides all these times we always treat this Latrobe trip as our working holiday kinda thing. You know, time when we can sometimes can make money but we definitely catch up with old friends where stories, food and drink seem have no limit. Unfortunately, we usually came back 3-4 kgs heavier than when we got there! Anyway, it was a very nice and calming feeling for not having any expectation. Maybe I should do it more often, huh? *thinkingwhilestrokingmyimaginarylongGandalfbeard*
Last but not least, at the end of our first day of the fair, we had a very nice surprise and that was the fact we won the best display. Yes, it was a nice surprise especially when one has been through such sad time......
